11. Cancellation and Refund Policy
11.1 Service Cancellations and Refunds
IMPORTANT: Once a service contract has been signed and accepted by Compassion Cremation, no refunds will be issued for Services.
This no-refund policy exists because:
- We immediately begin coordinating and scheduling resources upon contract execution
- Third-party services and crematory facilities are reserved on your behalf
- Legal and regulatory processes are initiated
- The time-sensitive nature of cremation services requires immediate action
Pre-Contract Cancellation: If you wish to cancel before signing a service contract, you may do so without penalty. Any deposits paid will be fully refunded.
Post-Contract Cancellation: Once a service contract is signed, you remain obligated to pay all fees specified in the contract, regardless of whether Services have been performed. This is a firm policy with no exceptions.
11.2 Product Returns and Refunds
11.2.1 Standard Products For Products (urns, memorial items, keepsakes):
- You may return unused Products within 30 days of delivery for a refund
- Products must be in original, unopened packaging and in resalable condition
- You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the Product was defective or we shipped the wrong item
- Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days of receiving the returned Product
- Shipping charges are non-refundable except in cases of our error or defective Products
11.2.2 Personalized or Custom Products Products that have been personalized, engraved, or custom-made to your specifications cannot be returned or refunded unless defective or we made an error in production.
11.2.3 Defective Products If you receive a defective Product, contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will, at our discretion, replace the Product or issue a full refund including shipping costs.
